As a key marketing initiative in Budweiser’s nightlife economy strategy, the “Night Flight” themed pop-up event utilized a core visual style blending retro aviation elements with cyber-neon aesthetics. It created diverse offline setups, including outdoor thematic photo-op installations, indoor interactive game props, and brand display racks. The custom fabrication of the decoration props for this Budweiser pop-up was managed end-to-end by a professional factory. From design refinement and manufacturing to on-site installation and maintenance, targeted technical solutions were employed to overcome multifaceted production challenges. This ensured high fidelity to the brand’s visual identity while achieving short-cycle, premium-quality project delivery.
I. Cross-Material Color Matching: Achieving High Fidelity in Both Lighting and Color
In the custom fabrication of visual merchandising props for brand pop-up stores, color consistency is the core metric of delivery quality, and it was the primary challenge of this project. Budweiser’s signature red has strict color value standards, yet the project’s props involved diverse materials, including baked-enamel metal, light-transmitting acrylic, neon light strips, and inkjet-printed graphics. Different materials have significantly different color-rendering logic; additionally, the installations needed to balance daytime visual texture with nighttime glowing ambiance. This made it highly susceptible to day-and-night color shifts and disconnected colors between components, which could disrupt the brand’s visual integrity.
To tackle this challenge, the factory established a cross-material color calibration system: using the brand’s official Pantone color code as the sole benchmark, we conducted over three rounds of sampling and color tuning for the baked-enamel metal components. We utilized professional colorimeters to ensure uniform intrinsic color presentation across the finished products. For the neon glowing components, we selected custom LED beads with a high color rendering index (Ra≥90) paired with frosted diffuse-reflection acrylic covers, which avoided glare while perfectly aligning the emitted light color with the brand’s signature hue. The printed graphics utilized wide-color-gamut eco-friendly inks, with advance color comparison tests simulating both daytime natural light and nighttime venue lighting. Ultimately, high color consistency was achieved across multiple materials under varying lighting conditions, flawlessly restoring the design’s neon atmosphere and setting a color management standard for the custom fabrication of Budweiser pop-up event decoration props.
II. Irregular Structure Engineering: Building a Solid Safety Defense Line for All Scenarios
This pop-up installation featured numerous irregular structures, such as a curved retro aircraft roof, a cantilevered spiral shape, and a transparent acrylic cabin, making production highly difficult. Since some installations were placed in open outdoor commercial districts and crowded nightlife spaces, it was necessary to balance smooth, elegant design lines with safety requirements like outdoor wind resistance, crowd collision prevention, and circuit waterproofing. This demanded a dual upgrade in both production craftsmanship and safety standards.
The factory intervened with optimization during the structural detailing phase, adopting a double-layer “internal load-bearing + external modeling” design. Internally, a galvanized steel structure served as the load-bearing foundation to guarantee overall load capacity; externally, the modeling was seamlessly formed via precision laser cutting and CNC bending, ensuring the arc accuracy and tight splicing of the irregular curved surfaces. For the cantilevered spiral structure, internal reinforcing diagonal braces and bottom counterweights were added, successfully passing the Level 8 wind load test. The transparent cabin utilized 8mm thick, high-toughness explosion-proof acrylic, with all exposed corners rounded and passivated to prevent injuries from crowd contact. The entire electrical system was sealed with IP65-level waterproof insulation, with wiring interfaces hidden in non-contact areas at the base. This solution ensured high design fidelity while fully complying with the safety codes for custom commercial pop-up props, making it adaptable for diverse usage scenarios like outdoor plazas and indoor nightclubs.
III. Factory 1:1 Pre-Assembly: Guaranteeing Punctual Project Execution
Pop-up events are inherently characterized by short cycles and rapid execution, and the installation windows in commercial districts and nightclubs are extremely tight. If components are shipped directly to the site for assembly after production, issues like dimensional tolerances and poor joint connections are highly likely to occur, which drastically consumes on-site debugging time and can even delay the event’s scheduled launch.
To compress the on-site execution cycle, the factory implemented a 1:1 full-scale pre-assembly process. After all prop components were manufactured, a complete assembly was carried out on the workshop floor according to the actual site layout. We simultaneously conducted comprehensive inspections, including lighting continuity tests, interactive prop function debugging, and splice gap verification, to proactively identify and rectify dimensional deviations and component compatibility issues, ensuring that outgoing components were 100% site-ready. By solving problems upfront at the factory end, on-site installation efficiency was ultimately increased by 45% compared to the industry average. Large outdoor installations at single locations were fully assembled and debugged in just 8 hours, with component splicing errors strictly controlled within ±2mm, fully meeting the short-cycle delivery demands of custom pop-up event props.
IV. Multi-Scenario Precision Installation: Polishing the Details of Edge Finishing
The project’s execution scenarios spanned two vastly different spaces: outdoor commercial plazas and indoor bars. Complex on-site conditions existed, including ground elevation differences, original architectural structures, and venue decor boundaries. The detailing of the connection and edge finishing between the props and the site, as well as the concealment of wiring, directly determined the final presentation’s refinement and premium feel. This was also a core assessment point for the successful installation of the brand’s pop-up installations.
The installation team conducted site surveys 72 hours in advance to customize specific installation plans for different scenarios. For uneven ground in the outdoor plaza, height-adjustable hidden bases were used for leveling, and the connection between the base of the installation and the ground was sealed with matching-colored rubber edge strips, which concealed gaps and also served a waterproofing function. Given the narrow space of the indoor nightclub, the team broke down large installations into standardized modules for on-site assembly, discreetly routing all exposed wiring along corners and hiding all interfaces within decorative cover plates, ensuring the venue’s original decor was undisturbed throughout the process. Ultimately, all connecting gaps between the installations and the site were controlled to within 1mm, achieving a natural integration of props and space while fully showcasing the exquisite quality of the overall visual presentation.
