We were recently commissioned to handle the fabrication of immersive marketing installations, event props, and on-site assembly for the KOLON SPORT MOVEALPHA “Natural Momentum” pop-up event, working in collaboration with their spatial design partner. As a professional marketing installation and prop fabricator, we identified several critical challenges during the project lifecycle: the biomimetic rock formations required exacting material craftsmanship and high-fidelity textures, while the large-span structures posed potential safety risks. Furthermore, the combination of diverse materials risked visible seams and color inconsistencies, making precise detailing and visual fidelity difficult. These issues were compounded by the massive scale of the installation, a tight timeline, and the logistical challenges of cross-regional transportation and high-precision on-site installation.
To address these hurdles, we developed a comprehensive strategy for each challenge: we utilized high-density carved foam combined with specialized realistic coatings to achieve authentic biomimetic textures, reinforced by an internal galvanized steel square tube framework to ensure structural integrity through modular segmentation. To ensure seamless visual integration, we used materials like realistic sand, moss, and vines to camouflage joints. Additionally, we employed invisible rigging techniques and lightweight materials to create a “floating” effect, ensuring flawless detailing and aesthetic accuracy. By performing a 1:1 full-scale pre-assembly in the factory with coded modules, we implemented a modular pre-fabrication workflow. Coupled with an staggered construction schedule, we successfully navigated the logistics, on-site installation, and final adjustments to deliver the project on time and to the highest quality standards.
