Yuechao Mall VM Props Customization

As the lead fabrication and installation contractor for this project, we oversaw the production and final assembly of the mall’s commercial art installations and immersive scenic props. While we did not spearhead the initial spatial design, our core mission was to safely and accurately bring this IP activation to life in a high-traffic retail district. Relying on master craftsmanship and rigorous engineering standards, we successfully tackled on-site challenges, focusing on crucial elements such as structural safety, exact color matching, custom lighting techniques, and modular pre-assembly.

When addressing structural integrity for high-altitude commercial props—such as the giant rooftop Emoji—we bypassed traditional solid casting. Instead, we engineered a lightweight yet high-strength solution utilizing a robust steel framework paired with EPS and fiberglass (FRP). Supported by precise wind-load analysis and counterweight engineering, the installation is built to withstand typhoons and extreme weather conditions. Furthermore, to guarantee material quality and exact color reproduction, we ensured the iconic “bright yellow” remained vibrant and true-to-tone under both daytime sunlight and nighttime neon illumination. By utilizing highly weather-resistant, automotive-grade paint and custom high-transmittance acrylic, and locking in the exact Pantone values through rigorous prototyping, we delivered a flawless, zero-deviation visual experience for the mall’s facade art.

Flawless lighting and installation execution were critical in transforming this piece into a viral photo destination. We innovated with a multi-layered diffuse reflection light-guide structure, paired with high-efficiency LED modules to eliminate glare and hotspots, creating a smooth, uniform, and translucent nighttime glow. Navigating the constraints of a tight commercial space and strict project deadlines, we implemented a “modular factory pre-assembly” strategy. By executing a full 1:1 test build and finalizing seam optimizations off-site, we enabled rapid, seamless modular installation during limited overnight construction windows, ensuring successful and timely project delivery.
