As a specialized custom anime prop fabrication factory, we undertook the full-scale manufacturing and end-to-end on-site installation of the pop-up event installations and custom props for this Pokémon-themed pop-up. The project’s core challenges centered on four key areas: First, stringent IP color matching. Brand-specific colors like Pikachu’s signature yellow and deep sea blue required absolute visual consistency across diverse materials—such as fiberglass (FRP), acrylic, and printed boards—while adapting to complex mall lighting conditions. Second, a high proportion of custom-shaped experiential retail displays. Structures like curved enclosures, circular battle arenas, and floating Poké Balls had to perfectly balance aesthetic fluidity with rigorous structural safety for public spaces. Third, extremely tight custom prop manufacturing timelines, demanding the production and quality control of dozens of prop sets within just over ten days. Fourth, challenging on-site conditions. The mall’s numerous pillars and tight construction windows left virtually zero margin for error regarding prop detailing, seamless finishing, and structural compliance clearances.
To address these challenges, we developed a comprehensive end-to-end fabrication solution. For color accuracy, we used official Pantone guides to individually calibrate paint layers for each specific material. Our fiberglass prop making process utilized automotive-grade baking paint, successfully controlling the final color variance to a strict ΔE≤2. To ensure structural safety, large-scale event installations were built with galvanized steel main frames and fire-retardant board structures, fully validated by prior mechanical engineering calculations. The custom-shaped elements featured modular prefabrication and tongue-and-groove jointing, ensuring structural integrity without compromising the smooth curves. For timeline management, we completed a 1:1 full-scale pre-assembly and lighting calibration within our factory, which slashed on-site installation time by 42%. We also implemented parallel production processes and reverse-scheduled key milestones to guarantee on-time delivery. During the on-site phase, we conducted advance site surveys to customize finishing components, fully concealed all wiring while strictly maintaining fire safety clearances, and delivered the project only after a comprehensive, multi-point final inspection.
