For the recent Moomin IP Pop-Up Event production, our professional custom prop fabrication factory was entrusted with the entire scope of full-scene event prop customization, promotional display manufacturing, and on-site installation. The project presented three core challenges: First, fabricating eight 1:1 life-size IP fiberglass sculptures that perfectly replicated the original character designs and colors, demanding exceptionally high craftsmanship and manufacturing precision. Second, ensuring that large artificial trees and custom cartoon sculptures met rigorous structural safety and weather-resistance standards for an open outdoor event space. Third, navigating a highly condensed production schedule, which required guaranteed efficiency for seamless multi-material prop assembly and rapid on-site installation.
To address these challenges, we implemented a comprehensive set of standardized fabrication solutions. For the custom IP sculptures, we utilized high-density fiberglass (FRP) paired with galvanized steel internal frameworks. We ensured absolute structural accuracy through 3D scanning and 5-axis CNC machining, while strictly matching official Pantone colors to guarantee flawless color reproduction. For the large-scale outdoor event props, we conducted dedicated structural engineering calculations, reinforcing the bases with custom weights and steel flanges to withstand outdoor wind loads. During the manufacturing phase, we executed a full 1:1 factory pre-assembly to preemptively identify and resolve any dimensional discrepancies. By adopting a modular prefabrication approach, we divided the installation into five primary modules.
