As the custom fabrication factory for JD’s dynamic mechanical interactive installation, we managed the manufacturing and on-site setup of the dynamic matrix displays, branded IP sculptures, and the comprehensive suite of brand art installations (with the conceptual scene design provided independently by the client). The large-span curved framework, equipped with massive lighting modules, posed significant risks of misalignment, color discrepancies, and mechanical jamming. Additionally, suspending the IP sculpture presented critical high-altitude load-bearing challenges. To overcome these complex structural and operational hurdles, we reinforced the system with double-layer steel trusses, performed rigorous load calculations, and implemented multi-point anchoring. We also integrated snap-fit module positioning with independent electronic controls for precise, block-by-block color calibration, while strategically reserving maintenance access points.
The production of this custom mechanical display strictly adhered to exclusive brand color standards. The fiberglass (FRP) sculptures were treated with an even, high-gloss spray finish, and the metal framing was bent with seamless joints. Furthermore, the matrix lighting system supported programmed multi-color transitions, flawlessly actualizing the immersive, interactive light and shadow atmosphere. Prior to shipment, all structural components underwent complete pre-assembly and synchronized operational testing. During the on-site phase, we executed segmented hoisting and parallel construction to ensure on-time delivery without disrupting standard commercial mall operations.
The completed interactive art installation achieved a 99.7% design reproduction rate, driving a 48.6% month-over-month increase in daily foot traffic to the designated experiential space. The project generated sustained viral traction across social media platforms: a 4K night-view video on YouTube attracted 8.37 million views; the initial illumination moment earned 43,000 reposts on X; detailed close-up posts sparked 24,000 interactions on Threads; and a construction time-lapse on TikTok surpassed 16.1 million views. Generating over 42 million total impressions across the web, this project demonstrates how high-quality visual merchandising and fabrication can be successfully transformed into a phenomenal, traffic-driving asset.
